Pavers, Driveways & Fencing · Miami-Dade & Broward

Pavers, driveways and fences done with the permits.

A new driveway, patio, pool deck or fence changes how your home looks and how you use it. I connect South Florida homeowners with licensed, insured crews who build on a solid base and handle the city and HOA paperwork.

What's involved

How a pavers, driveways & fencing job goes

Layout and approvals

Property lines, setbacks, drainage and utilities are checked, then city permits and HOA approval are submitted.

Excavation and base

The base is what keeps pavers from sinking. Proper depth and compaction matter more than the paver itself.

Installation

Pavers are laid, edged and compacted with sand, or concrete is poured and finished. Fence posts are set to the required depth.

Sealing and inspection

Pavers can be sealed to resist stains and weeds, and the city inspects where required.

South Florida specifics

What's different here

The things a contractor from out of the area can miss.

  • Driveway work near the street often needs a separate permit for the city or county right-of-way.
  • Florida's pool safety law has specific barrier requirements, so a fence around a pool must meet those rules.
  • Drainage is critical in South Florida's heavy rain. New hardscape shouldn't send water toward your house or a neighbor's.

Before you hire

What I make sure is in your estimate

When I connect you with a contractor, these are the items I check so nothing gets added halfway through the job.

  • Base depth and compaction in the bid
  • Drainage plan for new hardscape
  • Permit and right-of-way permit if needed
  • HOA approval for material and color
  • Pool barrier compliance for pool fences
  • Sealing included or optional

Questions

Pavers, Driveways & Fencing: common questions

Do I need a permit for pavers or a fence?

In most South Florida cities, yes for driveways and fences, and often for patios and pool decks. Work near the street may need a right-of-way permit too.

Why do my old pavers keep sinking?

Usually the base was too thin or not compacted. A good installation starts with proper excavation and base material.

What does a pool fence need?

Florida's pool safety law sets barrier requirements, such as height and self-closing gates. Your contractor should build to them and to your city's rules.
